In daily life, we are mostly exposed to temperatures above 0°C, and ordinary blackbody furnaces (ranging from room temperature to high temperatures) are sufficient for our needs, such as calibrating industrial furnace temperature measuring instruments and clinical thermometers. However, in many cutting-edge fields, "low temperature" or even "ultra-low temperature" is the norm, requiring the reliance on cryogenic/ultra-low temperature blackbody furnaces.
For example, spacecraft encounter cryogenic environments in space, and equipment carried on board must be calibrated on the ground beforehand. Ultra-low temperature blackbody furnaces can simulate the radiation characteristics of these cryogenic environments, ensuring the reliability of measurement data after launch.
Black body in the industry is mainly used in the field of temperature measurement, the main product is black body furnace.
In the calibration and verification of radiation thermometers, the comparative method is usually adopted, that is, through the radiation source of high stability (usually black body radiation source) and other supporting equipment, the temperature reproduced by the standard apparatus and the temperature reproduced by the radiation thermometer are compared, in order to judge whether it is qualified or to give the calibration results.
As a standard radiation source, the standard black body is mainly used to calibrate radiation thermometers, infrared thermometers and radiation temperature sensing detectors.
